Mission
The core mission of League of Edges is to provide throwing clubs and groups with the building blocks required to reach a World Class level of throwing skill and knowledge while simultaneously providing a level playing field for competitors no matter their experience. These goals are accomplished through distance, variance, and excellence.
Distance
League of Edges was built with varied distance throwing in mind. Following in the tradition of the IKTHOF, throwers will learn to aim at targets not just from one spot on the ground, but from multiple distances in each discipline.
Learning to control your implement from multiple distances is an integral part of throwing mastery. Each distance provides new challenges and problems for the thrower to learn and solve. With each solution comes a deeper understanding of how precision throwing is achieved at ever greater distances, resulting in a deep knowledge base for each thrower.
Variance
The target layout for League of Edges is based on the standard IKTHOF target heights, with some variation allowed. The purpose of the IKTHOF’s changing target heights is to not allow a thrower to fall into a groove. At no point will they repeat the same throw in consecutive attempts. After every throw either the height of the bullseye changes or the distance from the target changes. There is no repetition. A thrower must analyze every throw before their attempt to ensure success.
Excellence
League of Edges is made to provide everyone with a challenge equal to their skill. To accomplish this there are 6 ranks of difficulty throwers can achieve by demonstrating exceptional proficiency. Each rank turns up the challenge, ending up at the Master level. While the challenge at the Master level is set very high, each rank that comes before it prepares a thrower to meet it head on.
